Our Story
Moab Community Childcare was founded in response to a pressing need within our community: expanding access to affordable, high-quality childcare so that more local families can thrive.
We believe that reliable childcare is essential not only for the healthy development of young children, but also for the well-being and economic stability of families in Moab. That's why in 2018, the vision for MCC was born. We envisioned an organization that would support the Moab childcare ecosystem from all angles. Finally, after years of envisioning and fundraising, we opened our doors to our first center in 2022. Three years later, we run and operate two state-licensed centers—one for infants and toddlers (3–30 months) and one for preschool-aged children (2.5–5 years)— which are designed to provide nurturing, enriching care in a safe and structured environment.
We are proud to offer flexible care options for both full-time local families and traveling families visiting Moab through our Traveling Childcare Program. With a passionate team of trained caregivers, many of whom are parents themselves, we are dedicated to building a true childcare village where children, families, and caregivers are all supported to grow and flourish together.

To bring this to life, our plan is to: (1) expand capacity at our centers and partner centers, (2) secure diverse funding sources, (3) attract, train, and retain dedicated early childhood educators, (4) extend our hours and availability, and (5) continuously enhance the quality of care we provide. Through our focused approach we expect to follow through with our promise to enhance the availability, quality, and affordability of childcare in Moab.

By providing free space for our centers, these churches have played a vital role in helping our programs thrive. Their support allows us to serve more families and create a welcoming, nurturing environment for the children in our community.
